I was at work when it happened

I was at work when it happened, when the world ended.  It came without much fanfare; just a flash of light that illuminated the night sky.  I caught it out of the corner of my eye as I went about my customary cleaning.
Only I took notice of the light as only I stood near a window.  The others, my co-workers, continued working in oblivion.
The light didn’t startle or stun me even thought it was unexpected.  I found it all quite normal.  A feeling of comfort flooded my body.  I never ran to tell anyone.  What would be the point?  The world just ended.
